Jo Green is a Fishing Machine!

In a fantastic display of angling prowess, Reading resident, Jo Green, caught no less than 10 fish from RK Leisure’s Boat Pool on their famous Horton Complex in Berkshire, during a hectic 36 hours last weekend. Such a number of these prestigious fish is highly unusual at this time of year with ten fish representing a seasons total for some anglers! Jo’s great haul of carp began at a weight of 16lbs 7oz and topped out at exactly 37lbs with a fish affectionately known as ‘The Square Common’ who is known for being an elusive creature.

Jo said ‘I arrived on Friday night and set up my rods where I noticed the fish had been showing. At 5am on Saturday morning I was awoken to the sound of my alarms beeping and began the day with a 24lb 8oz mirror carp and continued throughout the day finishing with a total of 8 carp. Sunday was a quieter day with just two fish, the last being caught in the dusk hours of Sunday afternoon – a 22lb 3oz mirror carp.’

Jo, a full time tree surgeon has regularly fished the Horton and Wraysbury complexes for many years and hopes to continue this run of incredible luck for the future. RK Leisure Fishery Manager, Rupert Whiteman said of the haul ‘We at RK Leisure are thrilled to hear of such an outstanding result from the Boat Pool, and with the fish weights on the increase we eagerly anticipate future reports from the venue’.
